Why can't Henry Kissinger be accepted as the head of the 9/11 investigations commission? Christopher Hitchens explains rather thoroughly. There's stuff in there I'd never heard about.
Necessary declamation: bad for the Jews. When I originally wrote that sentence, I was joking, but now that I think about it: this is an investigation into crimes committed by Islamo-Fascist regimes against a country they claim is controlled by corrupt Jews who aim for world domination. Egad, they've found him!
Gee, when I started writing this post, it was just more Bush-stupidity problems, but now, wow...this is definitely going to make a new entry in Protocols. Oy!
Okay, onto some additional thoughts: This makes the second Bush appointee to seem to have conflicted interests. Add in Pitt's appointee, Webster, and you have three. Add in Cheney, and you have four men surrounding Bush whose credibility is highly questionable. If Bush can't be brought down for his own errors in policy and judgement, he certainly can for his choice of associates. Conservatives hate it when the wrong people are given control of an operation as though it's an entitlement...there will be backlash, even if it takes some time to develop.
Lastly, Hitchens is all over Slate lately...what gives? Is he getting a Timothy Noah-style gig there?
